Kids
A special programme for children makes the 2011 German Aerospace Day a very special event for our younger visitors. For example, they can take part in guided tours of the DLR institutes organised specially for children, during which their VIP pass gives them priority access. Each group (10-12 children, with one accompanying adult) will be shown around by a personal guide who explains the exhibits and scientific topics in a child-friendly manner. These guided tours take place twice an hour, each lasting no more than one hour, and visit four exhibits, each in a different DLR institute. Children can collect a sticker for each of the different exhibits on their VIP pass. Small prizes are awarded in the Child Information Tent to anyone who collects all four stickers.
One of the main attractions on the children’s stage will be the Elephant Show, starring the elephants from the German TV programme ‘Die Sendung mit der Maus’. In addition, the Comico theatre group will be performing, and child-friendly lectures will be given (‘University for Children’).
In the Science Rally, questions about the programme on offer at German Aerospace Day have to be answered. Prizes will be awarded on the children’s stage several times a day.
A large number of relatively brief attractions aimed at every age group will provide entertainment throughout the day. Using the Aerotrim, visitors will be able to train like an astronaut; there will be several planetaria, a bouncy castle, the Zorb Walk (jumping inside a giant ball) and a great deal more.
